Atsushi Nishigori (錦織 敦史, Nishigori Atsushi; born September 14, 1978) is a Japanese animator, character designer, director, and illustrator.
Biography[]
Atsushi graduated from Tottori Yonago East High and the Toei Animation Institute before joining Gainax and working as an animator for FLCL.[1] Atsushi later went on to become the character designer for Gainax's hit 2007 anime, Gurren Lagann, which he won an award for in the 2008 Tokyo Anime Awards.[2] Soon after, he left Gainax to work on the anime, The Idolmaster, which marked his directorial debut.[3] He also later joined Studio Trigger and directed DARLING in the FRANXX in 2018.
