"Cheese Horror Day" (チーズ・ホラー・デイ, Chīzu Horā Dei) is the seventh chapter of the Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt manga.
Synopsis[]
Panty and Stocking explore the Moon to find the cause of women's periods.
Plot[]
The chapter begins on an elevator in the church, where Panty and Stocking are arguing. Suddenly, the church shakes fiercely, causing the elevator to open. The Anarchy sisters walk in and see Garterbelt having sex with another man, much to their disgust and horror. Panty points out that the church is still shaking despite them stopping and she reveals that she is beginning her period, to which Stocking reveals that she is going through the same. Garterbelt believes this is Ghost activity and sends the trio into a rocket ship. As Garterbelt continues to have sex with the man, he explains that Panty and Stocking's period cycles are different lengths, and their cycles happened to overlap on that day. He tells Panty and Stocking to explore the Moon to find the cause of women's periods.
After landing on the Moon, Stocking notices a bunny and the sisters assume that that Ghost is the cause of periods. However, the bunny ghost, named Cheese Moon, tells Panty and Stocking that it is okay to breathe on the Moon without astronaut suits. Later, Panty, Stocking, and Cheese Moon have a picnic. Panty asks Cheese Moon if it is responsible for women's periods, but it explains that it was not its fault. Stocking also points out that Cheese Moon is eating a piece of the Moon, and Panty states that she doesn't want to eat the Moon because of its horrid smell. To their horror, Cheese Moon states that menstrual fluid is fermented on the Moon, and that the cheese and wine were made from blood. Panty and Stocking grow furious and nearly kill Cheese Moon, but he explains that women's periods are the only thing that keeps the Moon from crashing into the Earth. At the end, Garterbelt angrily asks if there were any ghosts on the Moon, but Panty and Stocking gift Garterbelt with the cheese and wine and ignore him. It was also revealed that Stocking is given a gift set from the ghost every month to show its gratitude.
Trivia[]
- The chapter's title is a reference to the British series, Wallace and Gromit.
- In the English translation, Panty tells Stocking to "kill the wabbit" upon seeing Cheese Moon, referencing Elmer Fudd's catchphrase in Looney Tunes.
