Funimation (formerly known as Funimation Productions and Funimation Entertainment) was an American entertainment company founded in 1994 by Gen Fukunaga. Funimation was a major international producer and distributor of anime and other media. The company was headquartered in Flower Mound, Texas. Funimation formerly licensed Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt in North America and produced several of the series' DVD releases and the English dub.
On April 2, 2024, Funimation shut down because of their merger with Crunchyroll. Because of this, the first season of the series has now been licensed by Crunchyroll.
Funimation Channel[]
The Funimation Channel was a 24-hour cable network which broadcasts anime series in the United States. OlympuSAT was chosen as the exclusive distributor of the channel. On December 31, 2015, Funimation and OlympuSAT ended their deal and no longer broadcast Funimation's shows on the channel.
