Synopsis[]

Panty, Stocking, and their friends join forces to stop Ramie.

Plot[]

During Garterbelt, Scanty, and Kneesocks' journey to Heaven, they spot rolling gunpowder which explodes upon reaching Hell. Fearing their father may start a war with Heaven, Scanty and Kneesocks call Fastener, who proceeds to turn himself inside out and reveal his true form.

In Heaven, Ramie is in the process of launching the Forbidden Ancient Heavenly Weapon when Brief emerges from Chuck's mouth and tries to run off with the frozen bodies of Panty and Stocking. After Polyester and Polyurethane corner Brief, Garterbelt appears while riding on Fastener's two heads. The Daemon Sisters promptly appear and engage in a duel with the angel brothers.

Just as their vehicle was about to run over the Daemon Sisters, Chuck and Fastener strengthen themselves and throw it aside. Garterbelt joins to help Chuck, Fastener, and the Daemon sisters in their battle. Brief is unintentionally caught in the crossfire and shot by Ramie; despite his weakened state, he remains undeterred and asserts that he will protect Panty and Stocking no matter what.

Upon hearing Brief's bold speech, Panty and Stocking briefly come alive and repeatedly poke Ramie. Angered by this, Polyester and Polyurethane shoot Panty and Stocking, seemingly killing them; however, this actually frees Panty and Stocking from their frozen state and births them anew. They, along with the Daemon Sisters and Ramie (the latter of whom uses Polyester and Polyurethane's vehicle to transform into a mecha), unveil their ultimate forms and prepare for battle.

During said battle, each character uses their bullets to steer the lever of the heavenly weapon towards and away from Earth. With help from Gunsmith Bitch, Chuck and Fastener merge into one and destroy Ramie's mecha suit.

Ramie is repulsed by his opposing group filled with people of varied species (angels, demons, and humans). Panty declares that family comes in all shapes and sizes and allows anyone to join her family because they are self-proclaimed "bitches". Gunsmith Bitch provides the group with tons of new weapons, which all morph together into one powerful weapon named the Armed Fuck Gun.

Ramie, however, still isn't finished; he sends the heavenly weapon down the Heavenly Catapult, prompting the group to try to destroy it with the bullets of the Armed Fuck Gun. With a final yell of "Fuck you bitch!", the Armed Fuck Gun manages to shoot a bullet and destroy the heavenly weapon, thus saving Hell and Earth. The gods who had been previously turned into ash were revived and walked back up to Heaven.

By New Year's Day, Linière and Silk had regained their spots in the kingdom of Heaven. Linière decides not to hold a grudge against Ramie, reasoning that he just needs to spend time with his family.

In the meantime, the main group arrives in Lingerie Land, where Stocking, Scanty, and Kneesocks support Brief in his plan to profess his love to Panty. Brief gets a chance to fulfill said plan when Gunsmith Bitch stops the Ferris Wheel while he and Panty are seated next to each other at the highest point.

He is initially nervous, but builds up the courage and finally reveals his true feelings towards Panty, who proceeds to accept his love and make out with him, solidifying their new relationship.

However, Panty and Brief's tender moment is quickly halted when the King of Hell grabs them both into Hell, much to the shock of the others. Garterbelt also falls over and dies.

Post-credits ending[]

In the future, Stocking - now the reverend of Cemetery Hills Church - rhetorically asks Junior and Bastard their purpose on Earth, and Junior responds that it's to find his mom and dad, as photographs show that the two of them got married. A heavenly mandate reading "Hell" is sent via a lightning bolt, and Stocking commands Junior and Bastard to go forth with their mission.

Trivia[]

  • It is revealed that after Brief confessed to Panty, they eventually got married and had a hybrid angel-human son named Junior.
  • In the original Japanese audio, Junior says his parents went off to buy milk; this was changed to them buying cigarettes in the dub.
  • Atsushi Nishigori returned for this episode to draw the detailed forms of the Anarchy and Daemon Sisters for the final battle.
    • Hiromi Wakabayashi revealed on Twitter/X that realistic forms are a "privilege" to angels and demons and that Brief and the rest of the guys remain in their cartoon forms for this reason.[1]
  • According to Scanty and Kneesocks, their father is in deep slumber, but never disclosed why. Their father only wakes up at the end of the episode to grab Brief and Panty down to Hell. Despite this, he was previously referred to in "Panty and Stocking: Homecoming" and "Bitch Girls 4 Life".
  • This is the first time a god is seen transforming - in this case, Ramie. Despite this, he is not given the usual art style switch transformation sequence.
  • It is revealed that Poly Brothers' garments are interchangeable, meaning Polyester doesn't necessarily have to use Polyurethane's underwear as his weapon and vice versa, as Polyurethane was able to turn his own underwear into his bladed boot during the scene where he gets rid of the elevator sound alarm.
  • In the official behind-the-scenes video of how Studio Trigger handled the explosions of the Anarchy Family's statues, they revealed that because it was Panty and Stocking they had to explode, they added more camera angles.
    • Additionally, they also noted how they had difficulty sculpting Linière's beard.
  • It is revealed that Fastener and Chuck's demon forms can be combined thanks to one of the angelic gadgets Gunsmith Bitch sold them.
  • The fake out explosion scene of Chuck and Fastener almost getting crushed by See Through use the official figurines of them from the toy sets produced by the Phat Company in 2012.
  • The three episodes included in the Heaven Wars arc were showcased in their "Zach Snyder's cut" version which had a special screening in theaters on December 24, 2025.[2]
  • Based on the season two episodes' popularity polls conducted by the Never Say Neverending Storytelling event's official survey, this episode ranked second place.
  • The following were revealed in the Neverending Streaming episode featuring the three-parter Heaven Wars arc.
    • There was a reason why Garterbelt keeled over at the end of the episode, however the reason for this remains currently unknown.
    • Brief's confession was written out in the script but they have decided to leave the scene unvoiced.
    • There is an unexplained reason why the Daemon Sisters' and Fastener's eyes went red upon seeing the King of Hell's hand emerge.
  • This episode contains several parallels to the season one finale, "Bitch Girls: 2 Bitch".
    • Panty refers to Brief by his actual name for the first time since that episode.
    • Both episodes end in cliffhangers leading up to the next season.
    • Both episodes contain the final battle of the main antagonist.
  • The episodes "Panty and Stocking: Homecoming", "Bitch Girls 4 Life"/ "The Bodycard"/"Project S: The Worst Ever Dojo", "The Brothers from Heaven", "The Part-time Job Before Christmas"/"Heaven Wars Episode 1 - The Family Menace", and "Heaven Wars Episode 2 - Attack of the Uncle"/"Heaven Wars Episode 3 - Revenge of the Bitch" were part of the "Zakkuri Tsunaida cut" screening shown in theaters on December 24, 2025.[3]

Cultural references[]

  • The episode's title is a reference to the 2005 film Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith.
  • The 2007 anime Gurren Lagann is referenced twice:
    • Garterbelt's suit when he returns to Heaven resembles that of Simon's jacket. The pose he is doing is called the Gainax Pose.
    • Brief's chances of getting a romantic relationship with Panty being so low but succeeding anyway is a homage to Simon still being able to save Nia from the Anti-Spiral despite the odds of probability being infinitely close to zero.
  • Stocking's shorter hair in the post-credits scene resembles that of Satsuki Kiryuin's short hair in the ending of the Kill la Kill OVA.

Continuity[]

Errors[]

  • Ramie refers to the slide connecting Heaven to Earth and Hell as a catapult.
  • The tools the brothers were carrying into the gods-only floor during the elevator scene disappear after they exit the building.
  • Panty and Stocking, during the duration of when they were petrified, shifts from being in their visiting outfits into their default outfits up until they get "destroyed".
    • However, during the official behind-the-scenes video showing how the crew does the explosions, they explained how they had already made the molds of Panty and Stocking before the episode.
  • During the scene where the Poly Brothers ask "Are we supposed to be shook or something?", the following errors are seen on Polyurethane: the indent parting his bangs and the hair on the back of his head is missing, his nails are not painted as usual, and the way his thong wraps around his bladed boot is drawn incorrectly.
  • Starting from the scene where the protagonists give their speech about what family truly is and onwards, the king's halo crown is missing from Ramie's head.
  • During the scene where the Poly Family gets blasted by the Armed Fuck Gun, the white belt on Polyurethane's outfit is missing.
  • Honekoneko briefly disappears in-between scenes during his cameo at the end of the episode.
