King Linière is the King of Heaven, King of Gods, and is the father of Panty and Stocking. He is a minor character who made his debut in "Heaven Wars Episode One - The Family Menace".
He is a God and is the first in command in Heaven, followed by his wife, Queen Silk, and third, his brother, Ramie.
He and Queen Silk were usurped by Ramie as he takes advantage of the scandals surrounding the former and his wife sleeping around in the open were made public. However, he and Silk regain their authority by the end of the Heaven Wars arc.
Appearance[]
He is an older man, with a plump body and of medium-short height; With a thick white curly beard reminiscent of clouds, with four ascending points and a lightning-shaped eyebrows with a round nose.
His halo is a golden crown with three tips, he dons golden bracelets on both wrists, he wears a white toga with his lower part exposing a realistic sculpture of a naked man whose legs and crotch are clad in white ivory.
Personality[]
Like his wife, Linière has a pathological habit of sleeping around, a characteristic passed down to their older daughter Panty. He is also implied to be goofy and incompetent. However, he was kind enough to give his younger brother a pardon even after the latter orchestrated a coup against him, saying that Ramie needs a vacation to spend time with the Poly Brothers instead.

- His name is a play on words of the silk lingerie, the concept of making lines, and the lineal religion, the reunification with the creator.
- Linière's design may be loosely based on how Zeus is typically portrayed in fictional media as well as Dionyusus, Greek God of Wine and Festivals.
- His lower half may be a reference to the Italian sculpture made by Michelangelo, the David.
- As revealed in the Neverending Streaming covering the episode "The Brothers from Heaven", they did not have the opportunity to explain in the first season how Panty and Stocking ended up on Earth for their trial, and added on, saying how their parents, Linière and Silk, intended for them both to finish collecting Heavens quickly but underestimated how their daughters slacked off for the most part instead.
- In the behind-the-scenes video of how Studio Trigger managed the explosions for the Anarchy Family's statues, they noted that they had difficulties sculpting Linière's beard.
- One of the easter eggs Hiromi Wakabayashi notes to look out for in the official art for the Shopping Circuit wave of merchandise is Linière's crown halo accessory on Polyurethane's beret.[1]

- Linière has a lion motif representing tradition while Ramie has a bird motif representing innovation.
- They also noted how only those with a direct relation to the royal throne have the lightning bolt-shaped hair highlight/theme (Linière, Ramie, and Panty).
- They reveal that the reason Panty and Stocking were sent to Earth to hunt ghosts as punishment was because Panty was caught having sex with her one-night stand on their parents' bed while Stocking turned a blind eye to it.
