Silk (判定, Hantei) is a God who rules Heaven alongside her husband Linière and the mother of Panty and Stocking.
She is a minor character in the Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt series who made her unofficial debut in "Bitch Girls: 2 Bitch" and her official debut in "Heaven Wars Episode One - The Family Menace".
Appearance[]
Silk is a tall, blonde woman with fair complexion, donning a large, crowned & horned helmet that covers her entire head.
She wears a large ruffled white cloak around her chest, which itself looks to be a part of a statue, with her hair covering her nipples, and seemingly no arms.
Her legs are live-action, and she wears white lingerie, consisting of pure white panties, a snow-white lacy garterbelt with ruffles, and white pantyhose with patterns and designs on it.
When descending to Earth, she appears as only her bottom, live-action half.
Personality[]
Silk seems to be reasonable and more aware than her husband Linière. Despite this, she is also promiscuous and has committed non-monogamous acts, a trait which was passed down to her eldest daughter Panty.
Background[]
Silk is the Queen of Heaven and married to Heaven's King, Linière. Her daughters, two angels named Panty and Stocking, were kicked out of Heaven for improper behavior and given orders to defeat ghosts.
She uses flashes of lightning to send scraps of paper with messages on them for their next assignment, and uses Chuck as a medium to send them through. Garterbelt will receive these messages and announce them to Panty and Stocking.
In "Bitch Girls: 2 Bitch", Silk - unnamed at this point - descends from Heaven to crush Corset and the Other Gods to death, although Corset survives.
In "Heaven Wars Episode One - The Family Menace", Silk and Linière invite Panty and Stocking back into Heaven shortly before New Year's Day. They reveal that they had both been recently caught committing swinging practices, which has resultantly depleted Linière's popularity, and plead with Panty and Stocking to take their spots in the Kingdom of Heaven. After replacing Linière as the King of Heaven, Ramie freezes Silk and Linière in stone and explodes them, killing them both.
Their ashes, along with the ashes of the other angels who were frozen, were used to form the Forbidden Ancient Heavenly Weapon, with which Ramie planned to destroy Hell and Earth. His plan was foiled in "Heaven Wars Episode Three - Revenge of the Bitch" when Panty, Stocking, and their friends used the Armed Fuck Gun to shoot the weapon before it could fall onto Earth. Silk and Linière were revived, as were the angels, and reclaimed their spots as the Queen and King of Heaven.
Trivia[]
- In the Manga Strip chapter, "It's a Wonderful Lay", Mr. Bombon mentions the "Holy Mother", which may refer to Silk.
- Silk's lower half is played by Japanese model Ayuri Yuzuki, with Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt being the only anime that she has played a role in.
- Silk was formerly referred to as "Judgement" in the artbook Datencity Paparazzi.
- Her design might be loosely inspired by Angewomon from Digimon and the titular characters from the Ultraman series.
- As revealed in the Neverending Streaming covering the episode "The Brothers from Heaven", they did not have the opportunity to explain in the first season how Panty and Stocking ended up on Earth for their trial, and added on, saying how their parents, Linière and Silk, intended for them both to finish collecting Heavens quickly but underestimated how their daughters slacked off for the most part instead.
- In the Never Say Neverending Storytelling offline event on November 02, 2025, it is revealed that the reason Panty and Stocking were sent to Earth to hunt ghosts as punishment was because Panty was caught having sex with her one-night stand on their parents' bed while Stocking turned a blind eye to it.
